**Last Blog**





Finally this time that i don't want its coming. All 3 months that i study and blog, more than 15 movies that i wathch. Its bring me to meet the new experience.


The first reason that make me take this course is you A.Cecil. I love your teaching style,the way you give the knowledge to us. Some time the topic is boring but you can make its easy. Another reason is i love movie actually i always watch only action and advanture movie and watch for fun ,don't think too much.But you teach me to watch valuable to know the meaning of each movie. Now , i can watch many kind of movie because i know that each movie can give us the lesson depend on our perceive.


For bloging.its a hard thing for me, i dont know what i shoud tell you but you always give me comment and cheer up all the time ''wonderful blog'' or ''great blogin''. Every time that i read comment from you or my friends, i smile...It makes me love to blog because i know that many people wait to read my story. although some time i am late to blog but i never far from it.


Blog make me become the creative person and thinker. You know my writting and idea are improve. I has chance to learn my classmate idea by read their blog it makes me know that my friend is awsome and intelligent.


You know im not expect any good grade from this subject because its not meant for me as studying with great teacher,great friend and great knowledge. You not only teach me about american culture but also teach me how to percieve them. I seem to be the professional in american culture now.


I will graduate in this semester and go out from Abac together with you. Im regret that Abac will lose the wondrful teacher like you but A.jarn you are the best wherever you are every student will love you.


Finally i want to tell that every thing that we did in this subject such as movie,game and blog. it will press in mind memory forever.

***WE WERE SOLDIER***






This is the story in vietnam war between American army and vietnamese army in period of cold war. The first scene show the defeat of french soldier that die in vietnam battle field. Because they didn't know the geography of this country and uesd the wrong strategy in battle.


The American soldier were sent to vietnam to fight with them by using helicorpter help to fight. The commander is Hal Moor. He promised that he will firstly stand in battle but he will be the last to come out and never leave his soldier.
The movie also show the love of each housewife that worry about his husband. Each soldier promise that they will never leave each other no matter what their skin.
The war happen seriously the helicorpter is duty to carry the pain soldier to the camp and help to fight also. The attrack end in the night time but vietnam soldier hide themselve and attrack all the time. The amoung of American soldier decline and seem to be lose in this war.
In the same time the western union sent the letter to soldier's wife at home to tell the death of her husband. THis is the surprise scene for me. Its very hard for her to accept the truth. It sad.
The end of war happen by American seenm to lose and ask for help,the air force were sent to attrack vietnam army. War end, American seem to win. Onthe other hand,i think that no side win because both american and vietnam lose their people,money and get the terrible time from this war. If american didn't have the high technology in weapon.they may defeat. This movie also show the unity of soldier in battle. Although they come from different country,different family but they will be brother and father. Being soldier is not easy like we understnd. They must hane brave,sacrifice and patient.
So, Im prond with every sodier in this world.

Blues has evolved from an unaccompanied vocal music of poor black laborers into a wide variety of styles and subgenres, with regional variations across the United States and, later, Europe and Africa. The musical forms and styles that are now considered the "blues" as well as modern "country music" arose in the same regions during the nineteenth century in the southern United States. Recorded blues and country can be found from as far back as the 1920s, when the popular record industry developed and created marketing categories called "race music" and "hillbilly music" to sell music by and for blacks and whites, respectively.


At the time, there was no clear musical division between "blues" and "country," except for the race of the performer, and even that sometimes was documented incorrectly by record companies.[22] Studies have situated the origin of "black" spiritual music inside slaves' exposure to their masters' Hebridean-originated gospels. African-American economist and historian Thomas Sowell also notes that the southern, black, ex-slave population was acculturated to a considerable degree by and among their Scots-Irish "redneck" neighbours. However, the findings of Kubik and others also clearly attest to the essential Africanness of many essential aspects of blues expression.


There are few characteristics common to all blues, because the genre takes its shape from the idiosyncrasies of individual performances.However, there are some characteristics that were present long before the creation of the modern blues.
An early form of blues-like music was a call-and-response shouts, which were a "functional expression... style without accompaniment or harmony and unbounded by the formality of any particular musical structure A form of this pre-blues was heard in slave field shouts and hollers, expanded into "simple solo songs laden with emotional content".The blues, as it is now known, can be seen as a musical style based on both European harmonic structure and the West African call-and-response tradition, transformed into an interplay of voice and guitar.
Many blues elements, such as the call-and-response format and the use of blue notes, can be traced back to the music of Africa. Sylviane Diouf has pointed to several specific traits—such as the use of melisma and a wavy, nasal intonation—that suggest a connection between the music of West and Central Africa and blues.[9] Ethnomusicologist Gerhard Kubik may have been the first to contend that certain elements of the blues have roots in the Islamic music of West and Central Africa.


During the first decades of the twentieth century blues music was not clearly defined in terms of a chord progression. There were many blues in 8-bar form, such as "How Long Blues", "Trouble in Mind", and Big Bill Broonzy's "Key to the Highway". There are also 16 bar blues, as in Ray Charles's instrumental "Sweet 16 Bars", and in Herbie Hancock's "Watermelon Man". More idiosyncratic numbers of bars are also encountered occasionally, as with the 9 bar progression in Howlin' Wolf's "Sitting on top of the World". The basic twelve-bar lyric framework of a blues composition is reflected by a standard harmonic progression of twelve bars, in 4/4 or (rarely) 2/4 time. Slow blues are often played in 12/8 (4 beats per measure with 3 subdivisions per beat).
By the 1930s, twelve-bar blues became more standard. The blues chords associated to a twelve-bar blues are typically a set of three different chords played over a twelve-bar scheme

A federally owned corporation in the United States created in May 1933 to provide navigation, flood control, electricity generation, fertilizer manufacturing, and economic development in the Tennessee Valley, a region particularly hard hit by the Great Depression.


The TVA was envisioned not only as an electricity provider, but also as a regional economic development agency that would use federal experts and electricity to rapidly modernize the region's economy and society. The TVA's jurisdiction covers most of Tennessee, parts of Alabama, Mississippi and Kentucky, and small slices of Georgia, North Carolina and Virginia. It is a geopolitical entity with a territory the size of a major state, and with some state powers (such as eminent domain), but unlike a state it has no citizenry or elected officials. It was the first large regional planning agency of the federal government and remains the largest. Under the leadership of David Lilienthal ("Mr. TVA"), the Authority became a model for American efforts to modernize Third World agrarian societies.++++


During the 1920 and the Great Depression years Americans began to support the idea of government ownership of utilities, particularly hydroelectric power facilities. The concept of government-owned generation facilities selling to publicly owned distribution utilities was controversial and remains so today (Hubbard, pp 5-27).
Many believed privately owned power companies were charging too much for power, did not employ fair operating practices, and were subject to abuse by their owners (utility holding companies), at the expense of consumers. During his presidential campaign Roosevelt claimed that private utilities had "selfish purposes" and said, "Never shall the federal government part with its sovereignty or with its control of its power resources while I'm president of the United States." By forming utility holding companies, the private sector controlled 94 percent of generation by 1921, essentially unregulated. (This gave rise to Public Utility Holding Company Act of 1935 (PUHCA)). Many private companies in the Tennessee Valley were bought by the federal government. Others shut down, unable to compete with the TVA. Government regulations were also passed to prevent competition with the TVA.
On the other hand there were conservatives who believed the government should not participate in the electricity generation business, fearing government ownership would lead to the misuse of hydroelectric sites. The TVA was one of the first federal hydropower agencies, and today most of the nation's major hydropower systems are federally managed. Attempts to create TVA-like regional agencies failed, such as a proposed Columbia Valley Authority for the Columbia River.

Many my classmate tell that this is interested movie. I'm not believe them until i see it..Now, i know that they tell the truth!!!!!!
Derek good son, good student,good older brother and he has a good and warm family. But he must go to the jail because he cruelly killed 2 niggers who try to stole his car. Actually good man will not do like this at least he should cathch them to the police. But this situation happen after he lose his father who was killed by drug seller. It makes him change to become another Derek. From good son become agressive from good student become criminal from good brother become prisoner.
After his father died he very upset with the american law. He joys the nazi gang and become the leader of gang. He hate every niggers around him. His nazi gang convince him to respect Hitler and against America. If people see his behavior may think that he has the bad and silly idea but one person think that he acts like a hero that is his yonger brother name Danny.
He continues make the bad thing until he is arrestd because killed 2 niggers. No one know that after he comes out from the jail will make him become the good Derek. In the jail he has the nigger friend who is his pair work but he never talk to him. He joys the white men gang who are bad guys but finnally this white mens hert him. It makes Derek learn that no matter white or nigger can be friend. And he relizes that everything that he did in the pass can not makes his life better.
When he comes out he try to change everry thing. He doesn't want Danny joy in nazi gang and he killed the leader of nazi gang beause he trys to control Danny to joy gang. At friend Danny angry and against him ,after he know the story while Derek stays in jail so,he understand.
This family will become warm family again but may be it too late because the brother of nigger that was killed by Derek come to revenge but not happen to him. The person who get this karma is Denny.
If people still seperate skin or race and can stay and love togerther,the revenge is not stop.

This movie was created from true story of Johnny Cash . He is the american who crazy in music.


His child life seem to be happy until his lovely older brother died,everthing change. His father blame him for this accident. It makes him runnnig to Air force and go to Germany. After that he married and spending his ordinary job that is sale person.


In contrast ,deeply in his mind he wanted to be the singer. It derieved him to come to ordition and he succeed. He had his band and tour for concert in many places. Although he was lucky in game but not lucky in love. He had not time to his family. Finally he divorced with his wife.



This is the cause that make him become drug addicted and alcorholic. His wotk get in trobble. His band ban him. At that time he had a chance to meet his superstar in his mind since he was a child name June. It maked he fall in love with her. June was cheer up to Cash to finish the drug, she stayed beside him. Its work,finally Cash can stop the drug and remain on the stage that he loved. They had a chance to play concert together, it maked them understand and love each other. Finally they married and live together.



In my opinion i don't like Cash in the story because he seem to be the mad guy when he was drunk. But i really understand the cause that make him become like that. He faced with many ploblem. But i believe that if we have love in our heart,we can pass every obstract. For example in the story,Cash loved June and love his job his music,it makes him can stand back again.

SAVING PRIVATE RYAN
















OH...this is actually long movie but it seem to be shot because it is very great and fun movie. Im excited all the time that i wacth it.

Since the first scene, the fighting between US army and Japan. I feel sad with this situation. The sea color become blood because a lot of people die.....

The group of US army try to find private Ryan who is the only son left in the family. Ryan has chance to come back home but he refuses . I think i understand his reason. Because all of soldiers are also his family and they also want to come back to family.


All of them using all of his brave to fight with their enermy. We can see that not every soldier is brave some one also scare. If i am him may be i feel like him who know because the war is so cruel. From this movie , i see that everyone do their best, it makes me understand the word " die in duty"

After watching this movie i feel sad and pity of them. in the same time i feel pround of them who is the perfect soldier and perfect human....They can run but they not i know you the reason why.....

It difficute to get the freedom .... many people must die....some time its not sense they didn't do anything but they must leave their home,family...their country to go in the war and kill the unknown people.... while the people who have high power stay at their royal...its not fair for them.

This story is about the man who graduate in naval school during world war2. The name of ship is CAINE. When he works in this ship,he and his friends see that his captain is illness. They know that captain is paranoid illness. One of navy soldier relieve his power in the storm night because captain can't control the ship,and if they let him continue control ship may be they will died. After this situation they are investigation by navy court but finally they can prove that they is innosent and captain is surely ill.






This movie show that during the war,the master is very important.He must intelligent ,brave and concious. On the other hand, this 0captain lack of this qualification. So,it is the duty of these soldier to use their brave to figth with the wrong decision of captain.

The MISSING


There are one family that have four members. Maggie is mother and she is a docter,Lily is older daughter,Dot is youngest daughter and Brake is her lover. One day,one man come to her home because he wants her to cure his pain. When Maggies sees this man,she is shock. Because he is her father Samuel Jones that leave her for a long time. He is Chiricahua indian. Maggie hate him because he kills her mom and her brother.After she treat him,Brake gets him away.

one day,Brake,lily and Dot travel to the forest .Maggie waits them at home but no signal that they come back. She sees her Dot's horse turn back. She knows that it will have something vilolent with them. She goes out to find them. She sees Brake is killed. Dot is survive but Lily is cough by the indian for sell to Mexico.She tells the police but no one care. so,she asks her father to help Lily by using his money yo buy her back. He accepts to help her.

Chaa-duu-ba-its-iidan,maggie and a little girl is Dot are journey to find Lily. That bad Brujo indian live in the cave. They catch 7 women and waitting for being 8 woman because they believe that 7 is unlucky number. These indian are very cruel,they easily to kill people.The leader has the black magic also. Dot see the death people in the cave that Brujo live after they leave out. Maggeis sees Lily picture . Samuel also see the bad sign from the nature that is snake belong on the ground.This one its meant bird hang in the air. He believes that someone may take their spirit. So,he gives brujo it witchcraft in to necklace to Dot.
Samuel Jones Maggie and all hide at the moutain,waitting for that indian pass by. It seems to be good but Dot use the ิ binocular to look her sister.It makes the leader sees the reflect of it. so,they try to catch them. During the escept,there are 2 mens kill one of Bruju indian. His name is Kayitah and his son,he is also chiricahua indian. All 5 people rest at some cave. At night,Maggie feel ill. Her face turn to be red. Samuel Knows that someone makes the black magic to her. That is Brujo because she forget her comb at her rest place and brujo take it and use her hair to do the blackmagic. Samuel and Kayitah prey to exocise the evil. When the morning she feel better and she start to believe in his charm and believe in his father more and more. Samuel and Kayitah decide to attrack brujo. Samuel come to their group and deal for buying the 2 girls. Brujo know that he is the indian and know his idea. so, he tries to kill him by kick him fall from the mountain.Kayitah who hide at the cave come to help the girl but not succeed.He is killed. Samuel is unconcious but when he wake up he talks with bird to help by lead the way to back his cave. When he arrives,he askes maggie to back home but she refuses.
Next day,Samuel makes a trick by using Kayitah body sit on the horse and use Dot ride it. he wants to fool that indian. Brujo is not stay at the cave it easy for him to do the plan. The indian believe his plan. then he can helps everyone. His group hide at the top of mountain.Brujo follows them.During fighting both of them fall from the mountain. Both men die. Maggie sad with his death,she brings his body back home

This is an excited movie and also dramatic. I see many habit of indian people.for example the way he dress with many necklace. I can see that this indian is expert in hunting and fighting also. Some thing that make me surprise that the superstition that they believe in black magic ,the sign,prey for his family in every morning even talk with bird. Some of bad kind of indian can kill people cruely,its different from normal prople. Its unbelievable because all of them stay in united state.

Christmas with the KRANKS





This movie is for celebration the Christmas festival that will coming.
In the Krank family. There are father Luther,mother Nora and daugher Blair. Blair must to go to Peru for joy PEACE CORP organization. so,Nora and Luther feel sad. Luther doesn't want to see his wife sad. He plans to skipt this Christmas and keep the money for cruise in the Carribian sea. They not buy christmas card,tree,setting frosty and not give charity. Many neighbor angry with both Krank idea. Co worker in his office are alway say something bad to Luther. But he does not care anyone ,he buys the bikini to Nora and always waiting for the time to travel. on the other hand,Nora is very serious and nervous with her friends. Their neighbor stand in front of their home and sing christmas song for hope that Krank may changes his mind but its not work.

Unlucky for Krank,one day before traveling his daughter Blair calls them. She makes surprise by come back home to celebrate christmas with them and to introduce her boyfriend. Both of them shock esp. Krank. Nora is so happy but Krank looks so sad. They cancel ths trip. They use 1 day to prepare everything. Sure,time is not enough. Nora can't find food that she want. For Krank also can't find the perfect tree. Krank tries to put the frosty on the roof but he falls down. All neighbor feel pity them. So,they decide to help Krank manage the party.Everything pass well.

Finally,they can have the perfect christmas party on time before Blair arrive. Krank still sad but when he see his family smile and everyone stay together he feels better and forget about this trip. He gives the package tour to his old friend because his wife is cancer.Krank wants them to have a good memory together.

After saw this movie u know i feel happy and i want to have a festival like this many time.
Because this is a festival of love , community. We can saw the kindness of people from this day. I think christmas in America are different from thai. In thai people think only party and buy gift to someone special. on the other hand,American as i saw from this movie they think about friend ,charity and community.
However,i hope that u may happy with a good festival....MerrY christmaS...hohohoho

LovE Me TendeR

This movie is more drama. But we can fun with the song in the story.Its a very good song.
After the civil war ended. There are six soldiers who are robbed money from the yankee and they shared money. After that three soldiers came back home the main character Vance wanted to come back for marriage with his girlfriend name Cathy. When he arrived his home,everyone are happy that saw him again. They sang and played music together.Unlucky,Cathy was marry with his young brother name Clint. Both Vance and Cathy still love each other. Vance must hide his feeling that he loved brother's wife. Vance decided to leave home because he didn't want Clint knew about the truth in his heart. on the day that he would leave,the officers from the government arrested them;three soldiers ,they suspected that all soldiers robbed that money. All of them traveled to the town by train. One officer gave Vance a good deal.If he returned all money back,he was released. Another three soldiers came to helped Vance ,Brett and Ray. Vance decided to turn money to the officer but three soldiers not accepted. They almost fight but Vance can control them. Clint asked to joy the group. Vance told Clint went to tell the officer that they will turn money. Cathy brough the leave money for give it to Vance. Vance met Cathy during the way,the police tried to arrested both of them. Vance hide Cathy in the cave. After Clint came back not saw his brother and his wife. so he misunderstood that they might run away with that money. Clint angry too much like a mad dog. When he saw Cathy he almost killed her. Brett told Vance about Clint wrong idea. Vance believe in Clint that he never hurt him. But Clint shoot the gun to Vance and another three soldiers tried to killed Vance.Clint can think,he tried to help Vance but bad soldier shoot him. Finally,Clint die. This movie end with tear. But i believe that no one forget Clint from their mind.

COLD MOUNTAIN





This is the second civil war movies that I had a greate chance to watch it. The story happened in the period of of the American Civil War. There were three main character in this story. The soldier name Inman, his girlfriend name Ada and Ada's laborer name Ruby;she became Ada'friend. Inman and Ada lived in North Carolina . They loved together but Inman must joined the military of America. He must far away from his honey.Ada was still waiting for him. The time pass year to year but there was not have the any news from Inman. The war situation became serious more and more. Inman got hurt from the attrack of Yankee. During he rested,he got the letter from Ada. She requested him to cameback home or cold mountain because she stayed at home alone,her father died and she could not take care anything in her home such as farm,pet or slave.

After he read her letter he decided to escape from the military camp. He was able to run away but during the way ,he met with many dangerous people such as the soldier who tried to catch them back to the camp. Fortunatly,some people helped him such as the widow who gave the resident to him, the old woman who cure him. In the side of Ada. after her father died,she hopeless in her life,no money,no friend. But after she met Ruby who apply for gardener. she teach Ada everything ,it made her to became strong woman. In during war,no young man in the village,there had only woman and old men. it make the bad officer who had more power tried to bull them. Everyone in the village must stay away from them for protect themselves.

Finally, the time that Ada always waiting for were coming. She met Inman. They planed to get marriage. But they could not happy ending because the bad officer killed him and all of them died. After waiting for along time they stayed together only one night,Inman back to died at his home COLD MOUNTAIN in his wife hug,Ada. At the end of the story Ada lived with her son and Ruby but she never forgot her husband.

After watching this movie one thing that i get from this movie is the painful from the war. The soldier must saw their friends died in the war,the parent must lose their children in the war,eventhough the women that keep waiting their husnband. Everyone wanted to stay with peace, no one want to fight. Every soldiers wanted to back home at lease just came back to die on their home

This is the CIVIL WAR movie. It almost old movie. The man that you see in the picture is the main character . His name is Adeson. He and his family live at Virginia where is civil war. He stays with his sons about 9 people his wife Matha was dead for long time.
He tried to avoid to associate with the war. His family seem to be happy after they have new baby in family and his daughter is married with smart soldier " Sam". Unfortunately,his youngest son they call him "Boy" was catch by Yankee soldier. Adeson and his son go out from home to find boy back. They went to military camp but still not see boy. So, they stopped at railroad,there are train that carried many slave soldiers. Luckily,there find Sam who was lose in war. They still travel to find boy but its fail. So,they decided to back home. At that moment Jacob his son was shoot by one soldier.
When thay arrived at home,they knew that Jame his son and Ann his dauther in-law die. His heart may split out. But he still strong because he is the leader of family. The 3 member in his family die even though they tried to stay away from war. But this movie not so bad because in the end the boy who run away from military camp can come back home.
The last scene of this movie you must don't miss it because its meant so much. Everyone in cherch no smile no spirit they just only pray. At that time the cherch door open the boy walk in but Adeson still not saw him immidiatly.he slowly turnsed his head look at person who just come in cherch that is his son Boy his heart may heavily shake the tear of happiness come to everyone.
I think this movvie try to tell us that the war never makes everyone happy. Although the pure people must die cause it. We can see the strong man who love his son very must. I really like the word in this story that said by Adeson
" If we are able to try but we not try,why we stay in this earth?"

FaR HoriZoNs









This movie had happened in the nation building period of the United state of America. There are 3 main characters that is Meriwether Lewis,William Clark and Sacajawea. The USA had just brought Louisiana from Frence. the president sent Lewis and Clark who were soldieres to explore the geographic of Louisiana state< that is it connect to Pacific ocean or not>
They traveled by boat along the river and they stopped at the indian village. Lewis asked indians to bring them to the mountain but they refused to do so.on the other hand, indians people tried to kill American soldiers but Sacajawea helped all of them. Sacajawea was a slave that was captured by this indians. She asked Lewis and Clark bring she back home where located near waterfall then she would help them to survey Louisiana. Those two men agree to help Sacajawea.
In next times, Sacajawea falled in love with Clark. After they finished to explore Louisiana, they came back to their home. Clark and Sacajawea came together. Actualy Clark already had girlfriend that was Julia. But he changed his heart from Julia to Sacajawea. when Sacajawea knew about this and she thought that she didn't suit with this town. so, she came back to her home that is indian village. Because she felt that no place could give happiness as her home.
From watching this movie, it gave me many emotion. First, i excited with advanture scene that indian tribe fight with American soldier. Indian people hide beside the river when American came by canu boat they used log to made canu fall.
Second, i felt relax with beautiful river view. i think that this movie have a nice picture.
Third , the romantic scene made me smile the scene that Sacajawea take care Clark when he got sick But i didn't like the end of this story because it made me sad that Clark and Sacajawea could not stay together.
This movie compare the lifestyle of people in town and people in the mountain were different. For this reason it made they could not live together.

The movie told the story by assume the actors to be the person in the past.
Ther are the historian give the information to the audience. the story happen since America are under the England power.
This movie is about American tranfrom subject of the King to citizen. The power of government influence in american life.
The founding father name George Wachington, he wanted revolution. The word spoken by the actors in the film are taken from letters , diaries and document of the time.
The movie seperate in to 6 EPISODEs. From seeing this movie make me know that how the American revolution and how come that American become the United State in the present time. I saw many last America President in this movie. There are the scene that the american fight with British for getting freedom.
